- Prum Essence Riesling – 10.5% ABV, this riesling white wine has a medium body and an off-dry taste with fruity and earthy notes. Meals that will pair well with this wine include those with pork, shellfish, and poultry dishes, as well as spicier foods and cured meats.

Notes on German Wines
Winemaking has been common to the area that is now Germany since the days of the Roman Empire. During the 14th and 15th centuries, experimentation among the monasteries in Germany resulted in the planting of many wine grape varieties, including the Riesling grape, which has come to be the favorite among German wines.
While German winemakers harvest more than 100 separate varieties of grapes, one-fourth of the land area grows Riesling grapes. These grapes create wines of all levels of sweetness, but have a high acidity. This gives Riesling wines the crisp quality for which they’re known.
Most Riesling wines are not stored in oak barrels, so you won’t find oaky notes in these wines. You will find a variety of earthy, tree fruit, and citrus notes within the wines – along with a variety of richness.
Pairing Riesling wines with foods will be of particular benefit should you choose to indulge in some local cuisine while in the Caymans. Local fare heavily uses seafood, shellfish, spices, and vegetables as primary ingredients, and Riesling typically elevates each of these types of food.
