Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits has no shortage of options when it comes to wine purchases. We stock all of the popular favorites, for all points on the budget spectrum, as well as unique finds from all over the globe.

Allow our team to present a basic run-down of different wine varieties and make a few suggestions for each style.

White Wines

  • Chardonnay – perhaps the most popular of the white wines, Chardonnay welcomes a variety of cuisines including pasta, seafood, chicken, and fish. We suggest the Antinori Tormaresca Chardonnay, a light-bodied chardonnay with floral and fruity notes and 12% ABV.
  • Pinot Grigio – another popular white wine, Pinot Grigio is crisp and light, so it pairs well with salad, light poultry, and pasta. Try the Torresella Pinot Grigio Venezia for a delightful experience. The wine is straw-colored and has aromatics of white stonefruit and citrus with tasting notes that are delicate, smooth, and balanced and an ABV of 12%.
  • Riesling – light and fruity, Riesling pairs well with spicy dishes and seafood. Consider the Cavit Riesling, grown in the Italian Dolomite Alps. It presents apricot, peach, and pear flavors and has 11.6% ABV.
  • Sauvignon Blanc – perfect for elevating food, this type of wine is delicious with everything from cheese to veggies, salads, seafood, poultry, pasta, and more. Rickety Bridge Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent choice for your next meal, with mineral, fruity, and zesty flavors and 12.16% ABV.

Red Wines

  • Cabernet Sauvignon – of all the red wines, Cabernet Sauvignon is perhaps the most popular. The dark fruit flavors welcome red meat dishes, and for those interested in grabbing a bottle, consider the Rodney Strong Cabernet. It has a semi-dry sweetness level, a 13% ABV, aromatics of blackberry and cocoa, and tasting notes of richness, depth, and fullness for a satisfying glass.
  • Pinot Noir – a light-bodied red wine that pairs with a plethora of foods, Pinot Noir is smooth and sophisticated and works with roast chicken and turkey as well as pork and oily. Drouhin Laforet Pinot Noir is ruby in color, fruity in aromatics, and refreshing in taste with light tannins and 12.5% ABV.
  • Merlot – Medium-full bodied wines, Merlot pairs differently with foods depending on their traits. The Dark Horse Merlot from California has a jammy taste, a full body, and 13.5% ABV. Pair this wine with poultry, lamb, and roasted vegetables.
