Discover Bertani Wines
In 1857, Gaetano and Giovanni Battista Bertani bought into some of the area’s premier vineyards and began a legacy focused on quality wine production. Bertani established itself quickly as a desirable source of wine and began exporting substantial amounts of quality wines.
Bertani released the Secco-Bertani Valpantena brand in 1870, and it remains in production today.
In the 1950s, Bertani released Recioto della Valpolicella with longer aging for a dry, bold red Amarone wine.
The wine-making region is always critical to the result, and it’s no different for Bertani wines. To the northeast of Verona, Italy, in the province of Valpantena DOC, Grezzana is the home of Bertani. The original winery remains the headquarters of the company, and they still use the vineyard and cellars.
The soil in this valley has significant iron quantities, a factor that imbues spice and minerality into the grapes. In fact, the special nature of the soil permits these wines to have a CRU status within the Valpolicella DOC. Bertani is the only one to have this status in the seven valleys of the region.
Tenuta Novare in Valpolicella Classico became part of the Bertani world in the 1950s as was the site of the new techniques used to create Amarone. Vineyards near Lake Garda and Soave are also part of the Bertani world.
Bertani Wines at Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits
Bertani Due Uve – light-bodied and dry with 12.5% ABV and medium-high acidity, aromatics of sage, peach, and green pepper and tangy and crisp flavors.
Bertani Sereole Soave – light-bodied, mostly dry, straw colored white wine with 13% ABV and a slight acidity. The white wine has elderflower, citrus, and melon aromatics and complex, balanced flavors with notes of minerality.
Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella – medium-body, dry red blend with strong tannins, aged for seven years in oak barrels and one year in the bottle.

The Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits online store provides free delivery to all communities within Grand Cayman. Purchases made prior to 2:00 pm receive same-day delivery; those made after this deadline are delivered the next day, with the exception of Saturday evening purchases. We close our locations and delivery purchases on Sundays.
Collect any online purchase from the George Town store if you’d rather not wait for delivery. We fulfill all online orders through that location.
