History
Hennessy cognac is the world’s most popular cognac. In fact, more than 50% of all cognacs sold are Hennessy. Established in 1765, Hennessy began when Richard Hennessy migrated from Ireland to France and began selling wine and then cognac. The first Hennessy arrived in America in 1794.
In 1971, the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy conglomerate absorbed Hennessy. Today, the Hennessy Cognac brand is seen all over the world as a sign of luxury. Whether you prefer cognac straight or in a cocktail, choose the best by choosing Hennessy.
Production
Hennessy Cognac is created from grapes grown in Cognac, France. Once fermented, the grapes are then twice-distilled and aged in oak barrels.Each type of Hennessy enjoys its own unique blend of eaux-de-vies.
Hennessy Pure White – Straw yellow color, floral and fruit aromatics and crisply fresh, full-bodied flavor with intense grapes, white flower, and honey.
Hennessy VS – Clear, amber cognac with aromatics of toast, roasted almonds, and brown sugar and a mouth of rich, creaminess marked by vanilla and a fresh, floral finish.
Hennessy VSOP – Mahogany cognac with fresh fruit aromas, full body, and flavors of fruit, vanilla, spice, and tobacco.
Hennessy XO – Drink begins with candied fruit flavors, followed by a developing heat and a potent sense of spice, culminating in an explosion of warmth, and finished with notes of rich dark chocolate.
Hennessy Black – distinctively smooth for mixed drinks, this cognac is pale gold in color with bold aromas of jasmine, oranges, and honey and flavors of fresh grapes and hints of orange.

The Hennessy Honey
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz. Hennessy VS
- ¾ oz. honey syrup
- ½ oz. lemon juice
- 2 ½ oz. coconut water
- 1 lemon wheel for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add all of the ingredients to the shaker.
- Shake thoroughly until chilled.
- Strain into a pre-iced serving glass.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel.
The Big Apple
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz. Hennessy VS
- 1 ½ oz. apple juice
- ½ oz. maple syrup
- ½ oz. lime juice
- 1 cinnamon stick for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add all of the ingredients except the garnish to the shaker.
- Shake thoroughly until chilled
- Strain into a serving glass pre-filled with ice.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Incredible Hennessy
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz. Hennessy VS
- ½ oz. Hpnotiq
- ½ oz. Midori
- ¾ oz. lemon juice
- ¼ oz. dry vermouth
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- Lemon twist for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add all liquid to the shaker and shake thoroughly until chilled.
- Strain into a serving glass pre-filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
