Wine & Steak

  • Cabernet Sauvignon: The king of red wines is a full-bodied wine with flavors that can stand up to most any steak, including those prepared with smoke, marinades or pepper. Try the Cakebread Cabernet from California’s Napa Valley.
  • Malbec: This dry, full-bodied wine is cultivated and produced in large quantities in Argentina, where it’s consider an ideal pairing for beef. We recommend the world-class Achaval Ferrer Malbec Mendoza from the mountainous ranges of the Andes in Argentina.
  • Zinfandel: Zinfandel has high acidity and moderate tannins, making it a great match for steaks with a good amount of fat, such as rib eyes, T-bones and Porterhouse steaks. Try the excellent Frog’s Leap Zinfandel from California’s Napa Valley.

Wine & Fish

  • Chardonnay: Fish that is grilled or prepared with a butter or cream sauce can be paired with an oaky Chardonnay. Try a bottle of the award-winning Jordan Chardonnay, one of the best from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma, California.
  • Pinot Noir: If you would like to try a red wine, the moderately dry medium-to-light bodied Pinot Noir is the top pick. We highly recommend the superb Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir, an award-winner from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in Walker Bay, South Africa.
  • Sauvignon Blanc: If the fish is prepared with fresh herbs like dill or with citrus flavors, Sauvignon Blanc with its crisp, citrusy zing is a great choice. Try a bottle of the award-winning Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of New Zealand.

Wine & Chicken

  • Cabernet Sauvignon: Cabernet is the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth and is excellent with chicken. It is dry, full-bodied and bursting with flavors. Try Intriga Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley in Chile.
  • Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris: Pinot Grigio (known as Pinot Gris in France) is usually crisp, light, and has great acidity. Hugel Pinot Gris Tradition from Alsace, France pairs well with chicken.
  • Sauvignon Blanc: This lean and crisp wine is well-suited to chicken and other poultry. Try a bottle of the excellent Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.
