How Much Wine Will You Need?
A standard wine bottle holds 25 ounces, which equals roughly four or five glasses, depending on how much wine goes into each glass. If you estimate four servings per bottle, you will have a buffer in the event there is higher than expected consumption.
A general guideline is to assume each adult guest will drink about two glasses of wine over a two-hour period. It’s not uncommon for wedding receptions to last longer than this from start to finish, so estimate one bottle of wine per guest unless you are planning a short reception or only serving wine with dinner. You can safely order less if you will also be serving beer and having an open bar.
