Don’t-Miss Beach Bars in Grand Cayman

If you’re ready to enjoy cocktails and conversation with friends while you take in Grand Cayman’s spectacular sunset views, try one of these Island favorites:

Bar Jack: Love a good Pina Colada? Bar Jack, named for the “silvery reef fish” that is plentiful offshore, is known for Cayman’s “creamiest and most delicate” version. You’ll find this casual bar at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman along the widest stretch of Seven Mile Beach. The sunset views are spectacular, as are the views of the white sand beach and the luxurious Ritz Carlton swimming pool. When you’re craving some food, dine on Caribbean favorites from the Chef’s grill.

Kaibo Beach Bar & Grill: Explore the less populated North Side of Grand Cayman by driving or boating to the fun, rustic Kaibo Beach Bar at the Cayman Kai marina, a 15-minute water taxi from Camana Bay. This local favorite was built in the 1970s to host HRH Queen Elizabeth when she visited the island. Don’t leave without trying the “Rare Rum Mojito,” made with Diplomatico premium aged rum and local grown mint, or a few of their 40+ fine Caribbean rums. Try the wood-fired brick oven pizzas. They also offer live entertainment several nights a week.

Macabuca Oceanside Tiki Bar: Located on the West Bay coast with panoramic ocean views, Macabuca is a great spot to watch the sunset and take a night dive from right in front of the bar. Their signature “Macabuca Punch” is made with five rums topped with ginger ale and dash of passion fruit. When you work up an appetite, the bar shares a kitchen with the popular Cracked Conch restaurant (just upstairs) and serves up grilled beachy fare, such as jerk chicken, blackened fish tacos, coconut shrimp and crispy calamari. Enjoy live musical entertainment at Macabuca on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Wreck Bar and Grill: If you’re craving one of Grand Cayman’s famous “Mudslides,” head to this traditional beach bar at the tip of Rum Point on the tranquil North Side. The drink was invented here in the 1970s and is still made with Absolut Vodka, Kahlua, Bailey’s or Molly’s Irish Cream and ice. Relax in a beach hammock or enjoy lunch at their seaside picnic tables. If you are staying in the Seven Mile Beach area, catch the catamaran ferry service from Safehaven.

Tiki Beach Bar: Sip drinks and watch the sunset right on Seven Mile Beach from a table or private cabana at Tiki Beach Bar or at their adjacent four-sided bar. The oceanside beach lounge offers terrific house specialties, such as the “Blue Ocean Thai,” made with dark rum, gold rum, curacao and orgeat syrup and the “Purple Orchid” martini, made with white crème de cacao, blackberry brandy and vanilla ice cream. If you get hungry, they offer casual lunch and dinner fare on the beach.

Whether you live on Grand Cayman or are planning your next beach vacation, you won’t want to leave the Island without savoring at least one cocktail at one of our best beach bars!
