Zuccardi Polígonos San Pablo Cabernet Franc

Polígonos is Zuccardi’s series of single-vineyard wines from the Uco Valley, each named for the exact plot it comes from. San Pablo sits high on the Andean foothills, and its Cabernet Franc has become a reference for the grape in Argentina.

This is not a big, jammy red. It’s fragrant and lifted: red currant, blackberry, graphite, crushed herbs and a black-pepper edge, with fine tannins and a long, cool, mineral finish. Aged in concrete and large oak so the fruit and the place come through, not the barrel.

Drink now with a short decant, or cellar for five to eight years. Grilled lamb, steak with chimichurri, roast vegetables.
